This month, we caught up with our head brewer to get the inside scoop on Sentinel Lager, Sew Hop’d’s latest release—and a beer that means a whole lot more than what’s in the glass.
📍 Beer of the Month: Sentinel Lager
A brand new release, Sentinel Lager is crisp, refreshing, and crafted with purpose. Brewed with all-American ingredients, this light lager is made to be your go-to summer sipper—and it carries a deeper meaning, too.
🎖️ The Story Behind the Brew
“I wanted to create a beer made entirely with ingredients sourced from the U.S.—a true American lager,” says our brewer, a veteran himself. “With summer coming up, we wanted something drinkable and light, but also meaningful. Sentinel Lager pays tribute to those who serve and protect.”
⚙️ Brewing Notes
Light lagers might seem simple, but there’s nowhere to hide during the brewing process. “We paid close attention to every detail—from the grain to the hops—to make sure Sentinel Lager stands out,” the brewer explains. “This one came together smoothly, but that’s because we didn’t cut corners.”
🌾 Ingredients & Flavor
Sentinel Lager is brewed with Rahr 6-row pale malt and Liberty hops from the Pacific Northwest. The result? A beer that’s light, clean, and refreshing, but still carries a subtle malt backbone. “It’s the kind of beer that fits any moment, especially when the sun’s out and the grill is on.”

“This beer pairs with just about anything, but especially lighter fare or spicy food. This community-driven event raised funds for a powerful cause—supporting combat veterans through peaceful retreats in Tennessee. We were honored to serve great beer for an even greater purpose.
