Where are you located?

1 Union Special Plaza, Suite 113
Huntley, IL 60142

Look for the smokestack on the Southeast corner of the Union Special Building on Route 47.

Do you serve food?

No, we do not have food. We do have snacks available for purchase in the taproom from Ream’s Meat Market, Firesticks Pretzels, and Gnarly Knots Pretzels. We also have a schedule of rotating food trucks and pop-up events, providing you with a variety of different places to choose from. Please see our Events page on Facebook for all food truck schedule info.

Can I bring my own food?

When we do not have a truck scheduled, you are more than welcome to bring in your own food, or have food delivered to you at the brewery from a number of local establishments. We do prefer that you order from the food trucks when they are here. We have local menus available in the taproom. Please remember to take care of your own trash to avoid cross-contamination.

Do you have anything to drink besides beer?

Why yes, we do. We always have a rotating hard cider on draft and in cans (always gluten free) from 2 Fools Cider in Naperville, as well as hard seltzer options from City Water- sometimes we even make our own. New to our lineup is also Kure's Craft Beverages canned cocktail line, which are all organic, gluten free, and Vodka based drinks served over ice.

We also carry Coke products, coffee drinks from Viator Coffee in Elgin, and juice boxes for NA options.

Can I bring my own drinks?

No. We do not allow any outside alcohol. Please don’t bring any.

Do you rent out the taproom for private events?

We do not take table reservations in the taproom, but are happy to discuss possible options for parties/events on a case by case basis. This is a difficult task do to the current climate, however, we are happy to answer any questions you may have. For all party/event inquiries, please send an email to

Where can I find your beer?

We sell most of our beer in 4-Packs in the taproom, and have distributed to a small amount of local liquor stores, bars, and restaurants. If you are interested in carrying Sew Hop'd beer in your establishment, please shoot an email to or for more info.

Why the name Sew Hop’d?

Because we’re punny, and we like it. But really, the brewery is owned by the same folks that own Union Special, with whom we share our building. What then, is Union Special, you ask? As some of you in Huntley may already know, Union Special is an industrial sewing machine factory that has been around since 1881. They moved into this building here in Huntley in 1948, and have been a staple in Huntley’s history ever since. And yes, they are still making sewing machines everyday.

Are kids allowed at the brewery?

Children are always welcome in the taproom. Please keep in mind that kids need to remain seated with an adult at all times to ensure their safety and the safety and comfort of other guests. If they don’t, please expect a kind and gentle reminder from us.

**Masks are REQUIRED for anyone over the age of 2 when not seated at a table. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. **

*For your convenience, we do have a changing table in our Family restroom.

Are dogs allowed at the brewery?

We welcome your pups on the patio anytime. Just please don’t forget their leash, and please clean up after them appropriately. Also, please make sure to bring your own water dish and maintain social distancing, for your safety and the safety of others.

Can you smoke on the patio?

There is no smoking on the patio, or anywhere within 15 feet of the brewery building and/or fenced area.

Do you fill Growlers?

No, we do not fill growlers. We do, however, have 32 oz. crowlers and 4-Packs that are available to go. Why crowlers, not growlers? Unlike crowlers, glass growlers allow for light to contact beer creating light-struck, skunky flavors. Growlers are also often not cleaned properly, and we like clean beer. We promise, your beer will stay fresh longer this way. Ask your bartender for which beers are available. A gentile reminder that all beer purchased for to go cannot be consumed in the taproom.
